WELCOME TO OUR AGENCY

  • The Department of Public Service Reform and Development (DPSR&D) is a creation of the Ondo State Government, with the aim of improving processes of governance and injecting into the Public Service, cutting edge reform initiatives that can help deliver excellent service and achieve dividends of democracy by the Bureaucracy.
  • After about six years of attempt, the Agency was established in May, 2019 with approval of the Ondo State Executive Council. The State Reform Office was called – Department of Public Service Reform and Development (DPSR&D), Office of the Head of Service.
  • The Department serves as the State Reform Coordinating Agency (RCA) for overall Service Improvement and focal point for driving change, reform, innovation and monitor impact; while reporting to the Head of Service.
  • A coordinating office for reform programmes was needed because there had existed reform programmes in the past, such as, COMSERVE (an Ondo State adaptation of the Federal Government service delivery reform initiative, SERVICOM) and a World Bank Assisted Governance Scheme called Public Sector Governance and Reform Project (PSGRP) which fizzled out and didn’t really achieve the desired results. The new coordinating office, being a home-grown initiative owned by the public servants themselves, would ensure sustainable and progressive reform programmes.
