Ondo Government trains workers on human resource management

Over 300 personnel from the Ondo State workforce drawn from the Hospital Management Board and the Teaching Service Commission have undergone training on the effective use of State human resource management software.

The state Head of Service, Mr Adeniran Adeyemo said the incorporation of information communication technology for data capturing and management is part of the reform agenda to position the workforce for efficiency.

OSRC’s Zaheed Aribisala reports that the HRM software will help detect ghost workers, prevent double salary payment among others.

In recent times, South West, Nigeria as well as other regions have been faced with series of high profile crimes ranging from farmers/herdsmen clashes, kidnapping, particularly kidnap for ransom, armed robbery, home invasion, Jailbreaks, carjacking, rape, killings, cybercrimes, vandalism of farm lands and a host of illicit acts that have continued to instill fear, uncertainty, pain and even considerable trepidation of the well-being of the people. The situation in the Southwest is a glimpse of the worrisome insecurity, nationwide. Hence, Overseas Security Advisory Council Review Report (2020) placed Nigeria at Level 3, indicating that travelers need to re-consider the choice of traveling to Nigeria due to high rate of crimes.

Agriculture remains the bedrock of any nation, without it, mankind cannot survive. It has played a very important role in the history of Nigeria, particularly Ondo State. It is therefore not an overstatement to note that agriculture provides food, shelter, raw materials, employment and wealth for over 70% of the entire population in the State.

In the same vein, economic experts have also argued that the only viable way to survive the current economic logjam that has been escalated by COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, instability of oil price, insecurity and civil unrest is through a revolutionized agriculture. Consequently, agricultural development being a multi-sectorial activity vigorously supports and promotes positive change in both rural and urban areas, just as the main objective of agronomy remains the improvement of both material and social welfare of the people, at all levels.

 

 

Ondo Head of Service, Adeyemo commits to Public Service Reform

The Ondo State Head of Service, Mr Adeniran Adeyemo has promised to drive necessary reforms that will reposition the state public service for efficient service delivery.

Adeyemo spoke at his first interactive meeting with Change Ambassadors of the Ondo Service Improvement Programme, ODSIP held in akure.

OSRC’s Joy Pius reports that the Head of Service urged the Ambassadors to brace up for the tasks ahead.

PS, AKINGBASOTE LEADS 3 GROUPS TO VISIT HoS

The Permanent Secretary, Department of Public Service Reform and Development (DPSRD) in Ondo State, Mr Oluwagbenga Akingbasote led three different groups to pay courtesy visit to the State’s Head of Service, Pastor Adeniran Adeyemo in his office in Akure on Wednesday, 31st March, 2021.

The groups are the Human Resources Management (HRM) development Team in the State; Ondo State Service Improvement Programme (ODSIP) Newsletter Editorial Crew and Change Ambassadors in MDAs alongside LG Change Agents.

Briefing the Head of Service on the activities of the HRM development Team, Mr Akingbasote said the team has made considerable progress particularly in the usage of ICT to solve problems, adding that the team has started deploying the software to facilitate easy processing of 2021 promotion exercise. The Team had ealier in the day visited the Office of Establishments and Training.

Speaking on ODSIP Newsletter, the Permanent Secretary noted that the Newsletter is the only medium that propagates in detail, activities of the Civil Service to the public, noting that the Change Ambassadors have made enormous contributions towards improving the Civil Service with commendable reforms.

In his remark, the Head of Service commended Mr Akingbasote and the leadership of the 3 groups for their dedication to duty. He revealed his total buy-in to the Reforms being carried out across the State through the teams and encouraged them to do more. He, then affirmed that Government would continue to reward Public Servants who demonstrate good ethics, diligence and excellence, to make the Society better.
